Tooth Whitening
It is normal for some people’s teeth to be more yellow or darker than others, even when they are quite healthy.
However teeth do tend to get darker as people get older. Sometimes they become darker if their roots have been damaged or diseased and the 'nerve' has 'died'.

Whitening can be achieved by using one of our home whitening kits.
We provide you with whitening jelly to use at home in a tray which fits closely around your teeth. You put the tray in your mouth for a few hours on several occasions, typically over a period of weeks. This is usually done overnight.
It is perfectly normal for your teeth to be sensitive to hot and cold food and drink for a few days after treatment.
We use a shade guide to identify the original colour of your teeth which allows you to compare this with colour of your teeth on completion of your treatment.
Your whitening treatment will improve the appearance of your teeth without removing any of the natural tooth surface. It is a better option than a crown or veneer if you want to lighten the colour of healthy teeth, as the placing of crowns and veneers involves changing the shape of the tooth.
If internal whitening is required where the 'nerve' of a tooth has 'died' (through damage or disease) and the tooth's root has been filled. We treat the inside the tooth under a temporary dressing. The whitening agent stays in the tooth for approximately a week before we clean it out and put in a white filling.
