Derbyshire Dentist Travels to Hong Kong to improve techniques

Derby Dentist Mr. Sanjoy Rakshit attended the prestigious 3rd ITI Hong Kong Education week at the Prince Philip Dental Hospital in September. He was only one of two dentists from the UK to attend and has been able to bring back a number of techniques that he learnt, from some of the most eminent lectures, academics and clinicians in the world. These included Prof. Klaus Lang, Prof.Bjarni Pjetursson, Prof. Nikos Donos, Prof. Esmonde Corbet, Rino Burkhardt and Martina Lulic.

The course was based on Periodontics (gum disease) and implants, and how we go about making your gums just right before we consider implant therapy. Speaking about the course Sanjoy Rakshit (Derbyshire Dentist) said, “It was one of the best courses I have ever attended from a group of people that are regarded as Dental Royalty. It is also good to get a perspective of how things are done on an international basis as there were dentists from all over the world, ranging from the USA, to Australia”. Having attended the course in Hong Kong, Sanjoy is now looking forward to the New Year when he will be on his travels again to further widen his knowledge and bring the highest standards of dentistry to his dental practice, Allenton Dental, in Derbyshire. This includes going to Geneva in January, and Istanbul in June to do a hands on course on white fillings and Dental veneers with world renowned cosmetic Dentists, Didier Dietschi and Galip Gurel.

Allenton Dental in Derby are now able to able to provide surgical gum treatments so that people are able to keep and maintain their teeth, and also have implants if they so wish. It also allows us to integrate this knowledge with orthodontics, dentures, and cosmetic dentistry.

Sanjoy also took some photos, while in Hong Kong, with some of the lecturers, it seems he learnt a lot and had a good time too.
